Schools/Colleges Closure Extended in Baluchistan

 

As it is known by all that Baluchistan Government closed all educational institutes due to floods in the province. Now the government has extended closure of schools, colleges, universities in the province due to massive devastation by the floods.

Mir Naseebullah Mari, the education minister announced that all public and private schools and colleges will remain closed till 2nd September 2022 & will re-open on 3rd September 2022.

 

The province Baluchistan is facing worst flood which broke the record of sixty years. There is 284 mm rainfall in the province, which is 469% higher than its monsoon average of 50 mm.

 

The flood caused large scale devastation in the province, killed hundreds of people and destroyed infrastructure worth billions of rupees.

 

As per NDMA-National Disaster Management Authority, since 14 June, 242 people lost their lives whereas 108 people were injured in the flood.

 

It is estimated that 200 billion Rs are required for rehabilitation of the flood victim. The Shahbaz Governmnet has only given 10 billion Rupees for the rehabilitation of flood victim in the province.
