The country is
facing 2nd wave of corona virus and the cases are increasing day by day.
The Government of Pakistan has taken a decision that in the country all
educational institution including schools , colleges, universities ,academies
and others evening schools will remain closed till 11th January
2021.
After 11 January 2021,
the government will monitor the situation and will make further decisions.
However, now all the educational institutes are being closed till 11th
January 2021.
The meeting was held
under the chairmanship of Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood. In this meeting the
all provincial education minister participated. They gave different proposals
and at the end of that meeting Shafqat Mehmood announced that they are closing
all the educational institutes from 26 November 2020 to 11 January 2021.
All exams being
taken in December 2020 will be postponed and new dates will be announced later.
It is expected that this year students will not be promoted without exams. It
is possible that universities could conduct online exams.
The Sindh Government
stance is that this year students will not be promoted without exams. Saeed Ghani,
the provincial education minister gave a suggestion to the federal government that
this time students would not be promoted without exams.
Here this be noted
that many universities are conducting BA B.Sc MA M.Sc exams. These exams have already
been much delayed due to COVID-19. So what will be the strategy of the universities?
Whether they will delay the exams for some more time or conduct the exams
online. No decisions have been made by the universities yet.
The students are
much confused and tensed. This is possibility that their academic year will go
waste if they do not appear in the exams now. It is hoped that all educational
ministers and universities will ponder over it and will do something for the
students.
